During her final year of law school, she served as a Certified Legal Intern with the Pinellas County State Attorney’s office, primarily appearing in Dependency Court.  After graduating from law school, Ms. Mitchell began her career in family law working as an associate attorney in a prestigious Tampa firm, gaining a high level of experience and knowledge in all areas of marital and family law litigation, including involvement in high net worth and high conflict cases.  In early 2013, Kelli completed an advanced level of training in the collaborative method of dispute resolution and can now offer clients an alternative to traditional divorce and post-judgment litigation.

After gaining extensive experience and a solid reputation for excellence, Ms. Mitchell opened Kelli L. Mitchell PA in 2015 starting out with a primary focus on family law, including litigation, collaborative divorce, and mediation.  Since opening her firm, she has continued to aggressively represent clients in all family law matters with integrity, knowledge, and dedication.  In addition to family law, she has expanded her practice to include family law mediation services, along with personal injury representation, following in the footsteps and training of her father, Joe M. Mitchell, Jr., also an attorney, who has represented clients in personal injury and criminal defense matters for over 50 years.

Ms. Mitchell has been practicing law for over ten years.  In addition to her practice, she is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator and a member of the Florida Bar, the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Family Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association, the Stann W. Givens Family Law Inn of Tampa – American Inns of Court, the International Association of Collaborative Professionals. Ms. Mitchell also serves on the Board of Directors for Jacob’s Touch Foundation and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Tampa.  Ms. Mitchell formerly served on the Executive Council for the Family Law Section of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and served on the Florida Bar’s Grievance Committee from 2017 – 2020. Ms. Mitchell is a lifelong equestrian and enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and two dogs.
